David Sommer ist für alle Geschäftsaktivitäten von MPS Technologies verantwortlich (Produktentwicklung, Produktmarketing, Markteinführung, Vermarktung und Verbesserung, Verkauf, Marketing). Zuletzt verantwortete er die Entwicklung der eBook-Plattform BookStore. Vor seinem Eintritt bei MPS Technologies war David Sommer sieben Jahre bei Blackwell Publishing beschäftigt, wo er an der Entwicklung von Branchenstandards beteiligt war, u. a. mit dem Projekt COUNTER, der Initiative NISO SUSHI und ACAP (Automated Content Access Protocol).
