1st Case Study Elsevier: PPM was the "missing piece in the jigsaw" to establish an e-workflow for books
In 2007, Elsevier announced the selection of Klopotek’s Product Planning and Management. The rollout was completed in 2009. PPM replaced the existing software systems with a centralized database solution integrating the classical publishing business with innovative business models in the areas of electronic products and content delivery. Now a total of 1,000 users around the globe work with Klopotek’s solution that integrates XML technology with Klopotek’s extensive experience as the preferred software provider to the publishing industry. Elsevier’s Electronic Warehouse, a central archival storage system for all electronic production content, is now seamlessly connected to PPM. As a result, PPM and the Electronic Warehouse function as the technical backbone of Elsevier’s automated global supplier communication.
