Klopotek & Partner GmbH implemented the Klopotek Publishing Solution at Liber AB, Sweden's leading educational publisher, based in Stockholm, within a timeframe of just nine months. By March 2005 the former back-office system had been replaced at Liber AB and their subsidiaries Liber Distribution and Liber Hermods (Liber’s e-learning company).
Following a business case analysis, Klopotek and Liber first concentrated on the migration of the Liber data. The Klopotek Web Application Server Technology was used to connect Liber’s web shop, which has already received a large number of orders since go live. A Swedish user interface was built for the Klopotek applications. The Book Sales and Distribution system with interfaces to the publisher’s warehouse system (Liber Distribution) and to SAP, the Customer Care Management system, comprising the School Teacher System, and PPM Production were successfully implemented.
arvato systems GmbH of the Bertelsmann Group had been contracted by Klopotek to implement SAP FI/CO for the publisher’s finance department. The SAP implementation rollout is based on a template, which is fully documented in a blueprint. This provided the basis for the Liber implementation and will do so for any further SAP implementation within Wolters Kluwer Education.
Contracts, Rights & Royalties are being implemented in a second phase which started in mid-April 2005.
The Klopotek Publishing Solution in English, Dutch, German and now Swedish has become a standard at more than 8,500 publishing workstations in Europe and the US.
The integrated Klopotek Publishing Solution enables Liber to optimize management processes and thus secure themselves a clear competitive advantage for their wide range of material in all subjects for all levels, from pre-school to university, including professional training material as well as maps and atlases.
