Ilhan Aksoycan to join Klopotek as COO
The global publishing market is experiencing an accelerated transition to new business models and new media formats. Publishers are confronted with the fact that their legacy information systems and solutions of generic systems vendors do no longer serve their purpose.
This development is creating a high demand for the products and services of Klopotek AG. To meet this demand and to optimize the service and support to its present customers, Klopotek has decided to strengthen its organization and its management capabilities.
As part of this move, we are happy to announce that Ilhan Aksoycan has decided to step down as the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Klopotek AG and to take the position of Chief Operating Officer of the company. In this role, Ilhan will focus on the development of the global Professional Services unit as well as taking the executive role in supporting a number of major customers.
Ilhan has more than 30 years experience in managing IT organizations and more than 20 years experience in the publishing industry. He has been the European CTO and EVP for Internet services at VNU publishers (Verenigde Nederlandse Uitgeverijen) as well as the global CTO of Wolters Kluwer.
In recent times, he had a number of supervisory and advisory roles in the publishing industry. Several investment companies have been engaging him as advisor for publishing related investments. He is also on the board of several start-up companies in the educational publishing domain and other online business areas.
Ilhan is a member of the educational board of HAN (Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen), University of Applied Sciences, in The Netherlands. He holds a B.Sc. degree in engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara as well as an MBA degree from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
